Quality Competition Makes Garden Plain A Stronger Team!

Garden Plain has always enjoyed playing in the Annual Adolph Rupp Invitational Basketball Tournament even though we have usually been the smallest school but we know that the quality competition will only make us a better team when the end of the season comes. This year's tournament lineup looks to be as good or better than in the past and should make for a very exciting week of basketball.

Overall, this year looks to be a very exciting year for Garden Plain basketball and hopes are high for a good year and a strong post season run. We are mainly a senior team this year with 4 senior starters and one junior.

The senior starters are Kendall Fisher, Myles Jennings, Kevin Mitchell, and Chris Hilger. The junior is Chris Pauly. The top reserves are also seniors in Michael Daerr, Willy Metzen and Jarrett Bergkamp.

The team has progressed about like we expected with the exception of loss to Berean Academy which was due to a complete 4th quarter melt down.

In our last two victories over Cheney and Trinity Academy we have had to come from behind late to gain the victories, and this will provide us with a great deal of confidence going into the Adolph Rupp tournament.

Garden Plain is looking for a great and exciting tournament!
