Cheney Team Overview

Cheney High School is a 3A member of the Central Plains League. They enter the Rupp Tourney with an 8-1 record and the 2nd Seed.

The basketball team is led by four seniors: Tanner Barber, Riley Rosenhagen, Terek Wisinger, and Bryce Zerener. Other members of the tournament squad are juniors: Brent Coykendall, Garrett Nikkel, Patrick O’Brien, D.J. Prentice, Ross Scheer, and Aaron Young. Plus sophomores Chase Williams and Brock Zerener.
The basketball team looks forward to the Rupp Tourney each season. The competition and quality of teams make for a great mid season test of the team’s progress.

But the main attraction is the people. Halstead has always treated us very well. The tournament hosts, hospitality and the reception of the fans for good basketball, make the Rupp Tournament a place and atmosphere that our players look forward to competing in with the other area schools.
