Halstead High School

Our season thus far has been a good one. We are excited about where we are headed as we continue to hopefully improve. We are a team that prides itself on doing the little things and reaching our potential as a group – thus far this season, we are playing hard and we are playing together. In addition, we have a group that is fun to be around and is very coachable. Although our record is not all that impressive, two of our losses come at the hands of 3A’s top ranked team (Wichita Collegiate), one at Salina Sacred Heart (one loss), and one at Hillsboro. We feel like we are better than our record shows. However, many teams in this tournament are in a similar position having played good competition. Any game we play at the Rupp, we will have our hands full and then some. The coaches prepare their teams so well and there are always players that are imposing.

The third week of January always brings excitement to our basketball team and the city of Halstead. We are very proud to host the Rupp Tournament and all that comes with it. The coaches and teams that come here represent the best of small town athletics. We are eager to get the tournament started.
