The Cheney Cardinals are honored to be part of the tradition of the Rupp Tourney in Halstead. As a fan of Kansas High School basketball my whole life, there has never been anything but great things said about the teams, the tradition and the way halstead’s community supports this tournament. Our team is off to a good start to the season with an 8-2 record. The kids have had to adjust to new roles, a new coach, and the high expectations brought on them by all of the success the team had under coach Leroux. They have been a great group to coach. I feel very fortunate to coach this group, and look forward to an exciting tourney week and the end of our season.
